Robby Harman Sordam

Robby Harman Sordam works on the development of an original concept of vocal swing-ballads and improvised Jazzy music with Afro-Caribbean influences. Harman arranges lyrical pop melodies and classic harmonies from the Afro-Surinam winti and kawina traditions according to contemporary visions with room for schematic improvisations for both vocals and instruments. The result is crossover music where there are improvisations on own compositions and standards with Afro-Caribbean themes, European pop influences, Rock, North-American swing and African polyrhythmic traditions.
Robby Harman performs live with his group Visionary Voices. In minimal formation the line up is vocals, piano, bass and drums. If possible the session is extended with horns and percussion. show native description
