Big Band "The Caledonians"

Bigband "The Caledonians", founded in 1942, is perhaps the oldest still playing bigband in the Netherlands. This bigband from Zaandam, Holland, has played non-stop for over 60 years now, and is formed from about 21 amateur and pro musicians. With their leader Barry Block the band swings as good as never before. The music played, is (o.a.) the music of Count Basie, Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey, and not only music to listen, but also music to dance! The band exists of five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums and two singers. show native description
