When people hear that the well known jazz formation ALICE IN DIXIELAND has a female line up, curiosity soon takes over. However, although a women’s band is unique, it also has a lot to offer the real music lover. The diverse and refreshing programme is performed with true professionalism and to add to the magic the band radiates fun and humour from the stage.
The musicians in Alice in Dixieland have chosen the repertoire from their broad experience in the music business. This includes styles such as swing, musical, bebop and dixieland. The wonderful harmonies a la the Andrew Sisters are interchanged with dynamic and tasteful brass arrangements as well as inspirational solo’s. The energetic and professional performance of this six piece women’s band will please the listening audience as much as it will those who love to dance. Therefore Alice in Dixieland is as much at home playing for a private party or at an outdoor festival, as it is in the intimate atmosphere of a jazz club.
The bands impressive CV includes tours and performances in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Germany and Poland. During Alice in Dixieland’s twenty year life span the band has grown from a fun amateur group to a fully fledged band of professional musicians, each with their own individual and promising careers.
