Fula's Call is a creative platform of musicians with different cultural backgrounds presenting a true world fusion. A new itching and global Fulani sound.
Senegal born singer Omar Ka with roots in the Niger belongs to the West African nomadic tribe of the Fula. Like Iranian percussionist Afra Mussawisade he moved to the West some time ago. They feel the call to consiliate their nomadic live with the uprootal of the migrant in modern society. In this they meet German flautist Mark Alban Lotz who gained international acclaim with his interpretations of Afro Cuban religious folklore and the exiting guitar player Raphael Vanoli who just arrived new at the vital Amsterdam music scene.
A Fula's Call toured Holland, Russia, Moldavia, Egypt and Ukraine. Some concerts also featured guest artists Tibetan lutist,singer Namgyal Llhamo and Indian tabla players Sandip Battacharrya, Niti Ranjan Biswas, African percussionist Ebu Gaye and Serigne M'Gueye, Russian Alexei Levin and Oleg Kiriev, Senegal vocalist Ken Kutai.
Debut CD Liingu, Mark Lotz Meets Omar Ka is released on LopLop Records in December 2007. 2010 c's a collaboration with the Euregio Wind, Brass and Percussion Orchestra.
