Radovan Tariška Sextet

One of the most exppressive talent and jazz musician in Slovak Jazz Scene, alto saxophonist, composer, producer and bandleader Radovan Tariška presents his new sextet.
As 23 years old received Radovan a prize „Jazzman of the year“ given to the best Slovak jazzmen on honour of Slovak jazzman Ladislav Martoník.
He participates in tithes albums of different genres in internation music scene.
Production of Radovan Tariška Sextet is based exlusively on author´s compositions of several musicians of this formation. The musicians try to arrange on the John Coltrane Quartet, so the music of this band takes the post-coltrane spirit.

Curaçao-born pianist, composer and arranger Randal Corsen (1972) blends jazz with traditional Antillian and Latin-American music in a highly original manner. Randal’s compositions and arrangements contain modern and progressive harmonies, while his solo’s are characterized by great virtuosity, rhythmic perfection and much diversity.

Ray Anderson-Han Bennink-Ernst Glerum-Frank Möbus-Paul van Kemenade (USA-BRD-NL)

This international quintet (USA/BRD/NL) with American trombone giant Ray Anderson, the amazing European Jazz Award winner drummer Han Bennink, the popular German guitarplayer Frank Möbus and the Dutch Boy Edgar prize winners bassplayer Ernst Glerum and altoist Paul van Kemenade come each year together for one or two international tours, playing compositions of each other. The quintet was formed in december 2007 when Van Kemenade got a carte blanche concert at the Bim Huis Amsterdam. Since that time they play quite reguarly together. On request available. Richard Bennett's International Jazz Band

Richard Bennett’s International Jazz Band was created just over a year ago to bring together Europe’s finest young traditional style jazz musicians. The band is specifically aimed at playing Jazz Festivals and Concert Halls world wide.

The line up of the band comprises of bandleader Richard Bennett (trumpet and vocals), “Long” Tom Whittingham (trombone), James Evans (clarinet, tenor sax and vocals), Andy Craddock (string bass and vocals), all from Great Britain. From the Netherlands Hans Mantel (banjo) and Jaap de Wit (drums and vocals).

BARITONE SAXOPHONE
Rik is one of the few Dutch saxophonists exclusively focussing on the baritone. For a number of years he was active with his baritone/Hammond-organ quartet Swingmatism. Rik won the Japanese 'Kobe Jazz Award 1999' and made a tour through Japan in 1999 and 2000. At the moment he is a member of The Reeds, The Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra and of the Young Sinatra’s.
His latest album 'RESERGE' has been released by Maxanter in 2007. The Cd is a tribute to the great baritone saxophonist Serge Chaloff. On this album Rik is playing with is new band The Reeds. [more...]

Twee zielen één gedachten. Twee handen op één buik. Twee weten meer dan één.

Wat voor muziek is het dan?
Rik en ik spelen alles wat ze leuk vinden, eclectische muziek dus. Veel mensen zullen er toch het label van de jazz aan willen hangen, ook goed.

Ritmundo afro latin music

Ritmundo bestaat uit zes instrumentalisten, die ook de vocalen voor hun rekening nemen. De altsaxofoon en trombone vormen een hechte blazerssectie met een vol geluid. Zowel een mooie afrikaanse sound als vrolijke latinlicks worden met gemak neergezet. De gitaar, helder en sprankelend en de basgitaar, inventief en functioneel leggen een stevige harmonische basis voor de groep. De drums en percussie spelen spetterende salsaritmes en swingende samba's en zetten zo elke tent op z'n kop.

Robby Harman Sordam

Robby Harman Sordam works on the development of an original concept of vocal swing-ballads and improvised Jazzy music with Afro-Caribbean influences. Harman arranges lyrical pop melodies and classic harmonies from the Afro-Surinam winti and kawina traditions according to contemporary visions with room for schematic improvisations for both vocals and instruments. The result is crossover music where there are improvisations on own compositions and standards with Afro-Caribbean themes, European pop influences, Rock, North-American swing and African polyrhythmic traditions.

ROBERT BOSSCHER TRIO

The Robert Bosscher trio is a very promising group with strong individuals. The man on the bass is building a great fundament. His strong rhythmically and harmonically playing makes it a pleasure to listen to this band. The man on the drums, Marcel Sapthu, is the strong force behind the energetic and moodfull sound the trio produces. His colourfull and soundscapelike playing constantly lifts the music up to a higher level. Sometimes the spirit of this player is so intens that it becomes a meditational experience.

Ruud de Vries - tenor sax

Dutch tenor saxophonist Ruud de Vries started playing saxophone at age of 27. Developing his playing 'streetwise' he became one of the Dutch tenor sax players with a true own sound and his own way of playing. Ruud was very succesful with the two tenor combination 'Kiers & De Vries' and played on many jazz festivals, such as the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague.

Today Ruud plays jazz in various combinations. He leads his own band, the BETER R.
